Best wishes to our collegiate men's teams competing in the USA Rugby national playoffs this weekend. Here's an update on our still active teams and other rugby happenings across Wisconsin.
TWO TEAMS STILL ROARING IN D2 NATIONALS
Wisconsin's rugby community is proud to have two men's collegiate teams still competing in the USA Rugby Division 2 national playoffs.
Both the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and the University of Wisconsin-Stout will be playing this Saturday, November 22 in the first round of the USA Rugby National Playoffs (aka "Sweet 16s"). For a full look at the brackets, check out this Goff Rugby Report article.
Whitewater, ranked second in the nation by Goff Rugby Report, will play 25th-ranked Bentley at 1 p.m. at the University of Rhode Island. Whitewater advanced to the national round of 16 by defeating UW-Stout to win the WIIL Conference Championship two weeks ago.
Stout, ranked 12th in the nation, will play 8th-ranked St. Louis University at 11 a.m. at Washington University in St. Louis. Stout advanced to the national round of 16 by defeating Northern Iowa this past Saturday in the national play-in match.

BADGERS CLIMB RANKINGS
Fresh off winning the Big Ten University Rugby conference championship this past Saturday, the University of Wisconsin-Madison Men jumped three spots into the national top 10 of the latest ACRC Coaches Poll via Goff Rugby Report. Wisconsin, previously ranked 12th overall, climbed up to No. 9. The Badgers are currently done competing for the fall season and are determining plans for spring 2015.

IRB IS NOW WORLD RUGBY
The International Rugby Board rebranded itself this week to World Rugby. Learn more about the rebranding here. What do you think? Do you like the new brand?

REMINDER! – UNION MEETING DEC. 6
The Wisconsin Rugby Football Union annual December meeting will be held on Saturday, Dec. 6 in Stevens Point, Wis. The tentative schedule starts at 12 p.m., however confirmed schedule and location are still being confirmed. We'll share more details as we lock them down or you can join the WRFU Facebook event for the meeting here.
All WRFU member teams must send at least one representative to the meeting. Plan accordingly and find your representative now for that Saturday's meeting.
WINTER TRAINING MOTIVATION
This week, we're sharing a motivational video from the New Zealand All Blacks. Check out this video "Gym Time with the All Blacks – The Ladder". What can you do with some masking tape on the ground and some hard work? Quite a lot.
